This is my second purchase of soft brown sugar snd I’m so happy with the results. My hive food supplies were running low so I added an entire pack of the sugar on top of the brood and to my surprise it was all gone in one week so I’ve stocked up on the sugar as our weather is really cold and flowers were caught in a wind storm that blew through. I’ve tried adding sugar water when it was cold and found it doesn’t work but the soft brown sugar has kept them happy and I now have sealed brood!

All of my hives completely cover the soft bricks as soon as I put them in. Compared to last year (no soft sugar bricks) my hives are doing MUCH better this year.

My first time using sugar bricks, I'm very pleased . I know my bees will make it through winter now!!

I put Stan's Soft Sugar Bricks on my four hives two weeks ago. My two strong hives have consumed the entire brick, and the other two weaker hives consumed over half the brick. I'm ordering more bricks today in the hope that this additional feeding will help all my hives survive the winter.

My hives were struggling to find resources and were angry. I bought some soft brown sugar and just slipped the entire block onto the center of brood. I waited three days to see how they were surviving, opened the hive and the block was covered with bees. You could see how they had really taken to it. So glad it was an easy fix for me.

We just checked our hives for the first time since adding the sugar bricks, and what we had put in was completely gone, licked clean! We added some more and look forward to great results.

I used Stan's secret recipe last year and fed my bees through the winter with the soft sugar bricks. The bees survived the winter and were fat and happy when spring arrived. Now I don't have to take an afternoon out of my week to bake them myself. Thank you for making the Stan Soft Sugar Bricks available this year! Saves me time and blesses the veterans. I appreciate the time and effort of all involved with this project!

I’ve been using Stan’s bricks for a couple of years. You can tell your hives needs by how fast they consume them. Sometimes they last all winter, but usually they consume them pretty fast., Tilt their Nutrition needs are met. Each hive is different. I need to stock up while they are available.

We have used Stan's Soft Sugar Bricks for several years in our apiary and have some FAT Happy bees! If you have attended our Bee keeping 101 class, YOU KNOW! Sugar syrup is great for brood building in the spring however, bees need proper nutrition in the winter months (in TX it's more like weeks). Nonetheless, moisture is detrimental to bees in the colder weather. Bees NEED to be kept dry and fed well. did you know that sugar absorbs moisture? Yes, they may have honey stores, however have you ever opened up your hive(s) in the Spring only to find a dead out colony? They didn't even touch the honey stores 1-2 frames over? Bees need to be able to access food (even supplemental) directly above and beside the cluster during the winter. The Soft Sugar Brick provides adequate food directly above the cluster, keeping them well fed for several weeks. What we usually do: We are near Palestine, TX (Anderson County) *Mid November (like now)- I make up several batches of Soft Sugar Bricks and place them directly above the brood nest or cluster of bees (directly under the lid) in order to prepare for the upcoming cooler weather. *We will do quick checks in about 3-4 weeks by peeking under the lid to observe how quickly a colony is consuming the food. We add more when necessary. Note: Please do checks on sunny days when temperatures are above 45 F. (You don't want to chill the brood) If you live up North, please follow the guidelines for your area as we are in East Texas and I have no idea what you do to check your colonies in the winter months, either way use the Soft Sugar Bricks rather than 2:1 sugar syrup, it will help keep your colonies dry.
