Deep Drone Frame

This one‑piece plastic frame and foundation features an enlarged cell pattern that encourages bees to draw drone comb, making it an effective tool in your Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy for varroa control. Insert one drone frame per hive, allow the bees to fill and cap the cells, then freeze the frame overnight. Once thawed, use a capping scratcher to break open the cells and return the frame to the hive so workers can remove the dead drones and mites. Repeat the cycle as needed. Designed for 9⅝″ (24.45 cm) deep hive bodies.
