TBS 5 Gallon Bucket Feeder Raft
Treat the bees in your area to a sip of refreshing water or revitalizing syrup. This innovative feeder raft is your open feeding and watering solution.
The feeder raft is designed to float on top of your syrup or water inside a 5 gallon bucket.
Includes a piece of sandpaper for roughing up the inside of your bucket.
Instructions:
Step 1. Use the enclosed sandpaper to sand the surface inside your bucket. Make sure to do so around the interior, parallel to the top of the bucket, not up and down. The goal is to make a surface that is easy for the bees to walk on.
Step 2. For syrup feeding: Mix one part hot water and one part granulated sugar in the bucket. Stir until dissolved. Then float your raft on top of the syrup, leaving about an inch between the top of the syrup and the rim of the bucket.
OR
For water supplementing: Fill the bucket with water, leaving about one inch between the water level and top of the bucket. Float your raft on top of the water.
Step 3.
Place the bucket in a shady spot.
Additional Information:
- The bee raft is sized for a five-gallon bucket.
- The ideal outside temperature to utilize the bee raft is 70 degrees F.
- It is best to use 1:1 sugar syrup:; 2:1 syrup can cause the bees wings to stick to the raft.
