Honeybee Forage Mix Composition:

20% White Blossom Sweet Clover (Melilotus alba)

20% Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)

15% Crimson Clover (Trifolium incarnatie)

15% Dutch White Clover (Trifolium repens)

10% Yellow Blossom Sweet Clover (Melilotus officinalis)

10% Alsike Clover (Trifolium hybridum)

10% Balansa Clover (Trifolium michelianum)

Instructions for planting:

Remove undesirable vegetation and clear site of debris such as leaf litter and wood chips.

If ground is compacted consider applying 1" of well decomposed compost followed by rototilling to a depth of 6"

Lime is only needed is PH of soil is below 5.5.

Can be planted by broadcasting (hand or mechanical), drilling, or hydro seeding. Seeds should be planted approximately 1/4" - 1/2" deep.

For hand of mechanical broadcasting, mix 1lb of clay based kitty litter per lb of seed mix. Apply half of the mix in a pass in one direction and the other half in a pass in a perpendicular direction overlapping the first pass. Following broadcasting use a rake to incorporate the soil into the soil. Firm the seedbed by walking on it or for large areas a riding lawnmower, atv, etc.

10lbs covers one acre of ground.

I haven’t actually used this box yet. But I have used prior boxes of this product and it is amazing! Gives the bees good forage! I messed up and didn’t order this one until spring, so I’m going to wait until fall to plant it as I am in the process of moving to a new location and I want to make sure that they have something when they come out after winter dearth!
